My Story
Sean Gold is a Black, disabled author, non-speaking public speaker, disability advocate, and podcast host dedicated to changing the way society understands disability, accessibility, and inclusion. Through storytelling, education, and honest conversations, he challenges outdated perceptions of disability and empowers others to embrace a more inclusive world.
As a non-speaking public speaker with cerebral palsy and a tracheostomy, Sean proves every day that communication, leadership, and impact are never defined by the way someone speaks or moves.
As the founder of Crippled By Culture LLC, Sean uses his platform as a non-speaking public speaker to highlight the experiences, achievements, and voices of disabled individuals. His work focuses on breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and creating spaces where disability is viewed through the lens of humanity, talent, and possibility rather than limitation.
Sean is the author of The ABCs of Disabilities, a children's alphabet book designed to introduce young readers to disability awareness in an engaging and positive way. The book became an Amazon #1 New Release in the alphabet book category, reflecting the growing need for inclusive stories that help children learn about differences from an early age.
Sean is also the author of Pure Love, or Is It?, a powerful story that explores the complexities of love, relationships, manipulation, and the lasting impact of sexual assault. Through this work, Sean addresses difficult conversations around consent, trauma, and recognizing the difference between genuine love and harmful behavior.
Beyond writing, Sean is a sought-after non-speaking public speaker who shares his experiences with schools, organizations, and communities, encouraging audiences to rethink accessibility, inclusion, and what it means to create opportunities for everyone.
Sean is also the host of the podcast Crippled By Culture, where this non-speaking public speaker interviews advocates, creators, professionals, and changemakers about disability, culture, and the experiences that shape who we are, amplifying disability voices and inspiring listeners to become better allies.
When Sean is not advocating, writing, or hosting conversations as a non-speaking public speaker, he enjoys developing new stories, connecting with communities, gaming, and continuing to expand the reach of disability representation in media and beyond.
This realization led Sean to create Crippled By Culture LLC. He saw too many disabled voices reduced to inspiration or pity instead of being heard as full, complex people.
Sean decided to build a bridge between storytelling and advocacy, honest, funny, and unflinching. Today, his mission is simple: help the world see disability as a difference to understand, not a limitation to overcome.
Taking the TEDx stage as a featured speaker to talk disability, accessibility, and inclusion.
